TRICK OR TREAT AT THE TRACK
100+ Dobie Middle school students and families enjoyed resources and candy at our Trick or Treat at the Dobie Middle School Track for our 2021 Fall Festival.
GIFT OF GIVING PROJECT
300+ Dobie Middle school students selected gifts to wrap and gift to a younger sibling as well as picking up coats, PPE, books and household care items. The project was created in collaboration with many neighborhood partners. Watch you video here!
TRUNK OR TREAT
Our Fall Festival candy and resource distribution but during the 2020 pandemic was focused on healthy PPE, books and candy distributions at three apartment complexes in the Rundberg neighborhood. Through the collective effort our the Rundberg Alliance’s members and volunteers, the three simulations Trunk or Treat drive thru candy and PPE events served over 1,000 local students and families.
BARRINGTON CISTERN
In collaboration with students from the Rundberg Alliance, local artists painted the cistern at Barrington Elementary School in the rain garden. The images incorporated drawings from students who live in the Rundberg Education Achievement District.
STUDENT CIVICS FORUM
Students and community leaders gathered at Guerrero Thompson Elementary School to participate in conversations facilitated by trained Lanier High School students. These conversations helped surface issues that students care about in their neighborhood, and started conversation about the types of changes they want to see happen.
TRASH CAN PROJECT
In partnership with all the schools in the Rundberg Academic Advancement District, The Rundberg Alliance was able to receive trash cans to be placed near each school in school colors. Barrington Elementary School, Dobie Middle School, Dobie Pre-School, Guerrero Thompson Elementary, Harmony Science Academy, and Idea Rundberg. As a result, Rundberg lane is cleaner and has trash cans initiated by R.E.A.D. Alliance to clean up the streets where kids walk every day.
